I got this press release, and my creative juices started flowing: I immediately entered one of my favorite Gilded Fork recipes, my Polenta Napoleons with Wild Mushroom Bruschetta and Truffles.
Urbani Tartufi, the global leader in fresh truffles and preserved truffle products, will launch its first annual ‘Urbani Academy Truffle Grant’ to promote greater variety in the use of its truffle products by US-based chefs.
The Grant Program, which was created by Urbani Tartufi in response to the growing demand for culinary training in the use of truffle products, will award one grand prize winner a one-week stay at the Academia Tartufi in Umbria, Italy, where he/she will be educated in all aspects of the truffle industry, from truffle production to entrée preparation.
“We want to showcase the versatility of truffles,” said Urbani Spokeswoman Olga Urbani, “how they enhance a restaurant menu and how truffles can positively impact a restaurant’s profitability.”
Interested culinary professionals should submit one original recipe utilizing fresh or preserved truffles to be evaluated by expert chefs from the Urbani Academia Tartufi and answer a brief online questionnaire. Entry forms and contest information are available online at www.urbanigrant.com.
